General Community Guidelines

Community Guidelines

Terra Classic Community Forum Community Guidelines:

To ensure a positive, productive, and safe environment for everyone, please adhere to the following rules and guidelines. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans, at the discretion of the moderators.

  1. Respect and Civility
  • Treat all members with respect. Engage in constructive discussions and avoid personal attacks, harassment, trolling, or derogatory language based on race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.

  • Disagreements are welcome, but keep them civil and focused on ideas, not individuals.

  • Examples:
Allowed: “I disagree with your analysis on the recent governance proposal because it overlooks the impact on staking rewards.”
Not Allowed: “You’re an idiot for thinking that proposal will work you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.”

  1. Stay On-Topic
  • Posts should be relevant to Terra Classic, including its technology, governance, staking, dApps, market analysis, news, and community initiatives.

  • Off-topic discussions (e.g., unrelated cryptocurrencies, politics, or general chit-chat) should be limited to designated threads or avoided altogether to maintain focus.

  • Examples:
Allowed: Discussing how Terra Classic’s burn mechanism affects LUNC tokenomics.
Not Allowed: Posting about Bitcoin’s price movements without any connection to Terra Classic, or starting a thread on global politics.

  1. No Spam or Advertising
  • Do not post spam, including repetitive messages, unsolicited links, or promotional content for unrelated products, services, or scams.

  • Self-promotion (e.g., for projects or affiliate links) is allowed only in designated areas and must be disclosed clearly. Excessive promotion will be considered spam.

  • Examples:
Allowed: In a “Project Showcases” thread, posting “I’m the developer of a new dApp on Terra Classic, here’s a link to our whitepaper (disclosure: this is my project).”
Not Allowed: Repeatedly posting the same link to a trading bot in multiple threads, or sending unsolicited DMs promoting an unrelated NFT collection.

  1. No Illegal or Harmful Content
  • Prohibited content includes anything that promotes or depicts violence, threats, terrorism, or harm to others.

  • No pornography, explicit sexual content, or nudity of any kind.

  • Avoid sharing or discussing illegal activities, such as hacking, fraud, money laundering, or unregulated financial schemes.

  • Do not post content that violates intellectual property rights, including unauthorized sharing of copyrighted material.

  • Examples:
Allowed: Discussing security best practices for wallets in a general, educational way.
Not Allowed: Posting graphic images of violence, sharing links to explicit adult content, or providing step-by-step instructions on how to launder cryptocurrency.

  1. Anti-Scam and Financial Responsibility
  • Terra Classic is a blockchain community, do not provide or solicit unlicensed financial advice. All discussions are for informational purposes only; users are responsible for their own decisions.

  • Report and avoid promoting potential scams, phishing attempts, or pump-and-dump schemes. Sharing wallet addresses or private keys is strictly forbidden.

  • Use caution with links; moderators may remove suspicious ones.

  • Examples:
Allowed: “Based on public data, LUNC’s supply burn rate has increased, do your own research before investing.”
Not Allowed: “Send me your wallet address for a free airdrop,” or “This token will 10x buy now!” without disclaimers, or linking to a fake Terra Classic website designed for phishing.

  1. Privacy and Security
  • Do not dox (reveal personal information about) others without consent.

  • Protect your own privacy: Avoid sharing sensitive information like email addresses, phone numbers, or wallet details in public posts.

  • Impersonating others, including community leaders or developers, is not allowed.

  • Examples:
Allowed: Referring to a user by their forum username in a discussion.
Not Allowed: Posting “User X lives at this address based on their IP,” or creating a fake account pretending to be the Terra Classic founder.

  1. Content Guidelines
  • Use clear, readable formatting. Avoid ALL CAPS shouting or excessive emojis that disrupt readability.

  • Posts in languages other than English should include an English translation if possible, to foster inclusivity.

  • No duplicate posts or threads, search the forum before creating a new one.

  • Examples:
Allowed: A well-formatted post with bullet points explaining a proposal, including a translation: “提案の詳細 (Details of the proposal): …”
Not Allowed: “BUY LUNC NOW!!! :rocket::rocket::rocket:” repeated across threads, or creating multiple identical threads about the same bug report without checking existing ones.

  1. Moderation and Enforcement
  • Moderators reserve the right to edit, move, or delete posts that violate these rules.

  • If you see a violation, use the report function rather than engaging directly.

  • Appeals for bans or warnings can be made via [contact method, e.g., private message to admins or a dedicated appeal thread].

  • These rules may be updated; check back periodically for changes.

  • Examples:
Allowed: Reporting a spam post via the forum’s report button and waiting for moderator action.
Not Allowed: Publicly calling out a user in a thread like “This guy is a scammer, ban him!” instead of reporting, or arguing with moderators about a decision without using the appeal process.

By participating in this forum, you agree to these rules. Let’s build a strong, informed Terra Classic community together! If you have suggestions for improving these guidelines, share them in this proposal’s comment section.
