Summary
This proposal requests the implementation of a “Burn Button” (a voluntary burn function) across the main interfaces of the LUNC ecosystem, including:
- The LUNCDash website and its mobile applications (Android + iOS).
The feature will allow users to burn:
-
Staking rewards;
-
Non-staked LUNC (free wallet balance).
Goal: increase the monthly burn rate without modifying the chain tax.
Motivation
Currently, in the LUNC ecosystem:
-
there is no integrated interface that allows users to easily burn non-staked funds;
-
LUNCDash and its mobile apps lack a unified module dedicated to voluntary burns.
With a large staking base and a significant amount of inactive LUNC held in wallets, the introduction of a simple voluntary burn button can generate substantial monthly burns.
Proposal Description
1. Implementation on LUNCDash + Android/iOS App
-
The LUNCDash website (luncdash. com) must integrate a “Burn” button for staking rewards and free wallet funds.
-
Mobile applications (Android and iOS) of the same platform are encouraged to implement the same functionality.
-
LUNC-compatible wallets should also incorporate the option consistently.
2. Required Features
2.1 Burning Staking Rewards
-
Automatic monthly burn option;
-
“Burn all rewards now” button;
-
Custom burn option (user enters the amount).
2.2 Burning Non-Staked Funds (free wallet balance)
-
“Burn Non-Staked LUNC” button;
-
User enters the desired amount → confirms → transaction is sent to the official burn wallet.
3. Automatic Memo in Burn Transactions
This proposal requires the introduction of an automatic pre-filled memo in all transactions executed via the Burn Button on LUNCDash (website and mobile apps) and any compatible wallets.
Default memo:
(I support the burn and help keep the LUNC price stable through staking. “luncdash .com”)
Operational Characteristics
-
The memo is automatically included in every burn transaction.
-
No technical impact on the chain: it is simply a memo attached to a standard transaction.
-
Promotes a culture of burning, encourages staking participation, and directs new users to LUNCDash through the embedded link.
Expected Benefits
-
Significant increase in monthly burned tokens;
-
100% voluntary participation, avoiding division;
-
Burn functionality implemented on key platforms (LUNCDash, mobile apps, wallets);
-
No change to protocol, tax, or core mechanisms.
Technical Impact
-
Uses a standard LUNC “send” transaction to the official burn wallet;
-
No impact on consensus;
-
No changes to staking, governance, or tokenomics modules.
Costs & Implementation
-
A Community Pool bounty may be used to support development on LUNCDash and mobile apps;
-
Development is limited to UI integration and simple transaction handling;
-
Optional: monthly burn reporting for transparency.
Conclusion
Integrating a Burn Button into the LUNCDash platform (website + mobile apps) and compatible wallets represents a voluntary, accessible, and high-impact strategy to reduce the LUNC supply.
A small UI improvement can generate meaningful long-term results.
